Yes yes yes… finally it’s official…. California here I come 😀
All dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them
For a long time i’ve been thinking about it – doing an internship in the United States. For several reasons i’ve now finally decided to fulfill that dream of working abroad by going to the united states. I’m young, wild & free (okay just pretend i am) and i don’t have a flat in Austria – so when should i do it if i’m not doing it now? I’m so thankful, that my family and friends like the idea of living a dream, even if at first they were kind of shocked about hearing of my plans.
20 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than the ones you did.
Getting an internship in the US… not that easy
To be honest: getting an internship in america isn’t easy at all, specially if you want to live & work in a special area (e.g. California). Most of the companies are searching for interns for a year, not for some months. But with some help i’ve finally managed to get a job at a company in Thousand Oaks, 50km from Los Angeles. I think that i can learn a lot, i’ll be working in a variety of fields and it sounds like a great job. Thousand Oaks is not such a big city, but the jobs sounds great, the beaches are not too far, there are hiking trails to the mountains and a bus is also sometimes leaving to LA. I’m excited about what’s going to come.
My travel plans
After the internship i’ll be doing a westcoast trip with my family (for the second time – see my blogpost about my westcoast trip some years ago here). And if money and time is left, i’d like to tick of a paradise of my bucketlist – Hawaii. I’m super excited about that adventure and i hope that i can personally grow by doing it.
Last but not least
I was just coming home from my meeting at the U.S. embassy, for getting my visa. And there’s not so much time left… In just a few weeks i’ll be getting on the plane, so i’ll need to get all my stuff done by then and all my things packed.
I’m happy for everybody following my journey here, on my new Facebook page Smilesfromabroad and/or on Instagram sabirock_
